My name is Petra Heisinger, and I’m the creator of the Tidy Up Your Head program.
Its core mission is to guide people – or Tidiers, as I like to call them – toward living joyful, meaningful, and emotionally healthy lives. The name “Tidy Up Your Head” wasn’t chosen by chance. It points directly to the two core principles of the program and what it seeks to achieve.
On the outside, I’m a Political Science graduate, a flutist, a certified nutritionist, a certified fitness trainer, a public relations and advertising specialist, an entrepreneur, and a proud mother of two.
Within the music world, I created a verified method for early childhood education called Musical Animation, which gained significant recognition and was presented in 2017 at an international conference at Harvard University. This method became the foundation of my first professional book, “Through Story to Music,” co-authored with beloved children’s author Željka Horvat Vukelja.
My second book, “I Am Petra, You Will Not Break Me,” marked my literary debut. While in one sense autobiographical, it’s really a universal story – told through vivid moments from a young girl’s life, showing how hardship can also be an invitation to grow.
I could tell you much more, but here’s what truly matters:
On the inside, this is the story of a girl who wouldn’t give up.
She walked through her own icy forest.
She learned what true self-worth, love, and connection mean.
And most importantly, she discovered how to become her own friend – through courage and faith.
That’s how Tidy Up Your Head was born – as a continuation of my book “I Am Petra, You Will Not Break Me.”
The idea is that when a reader finishes the book, they’re inspired to replace my name in the title with their own. And begin writing their own story.
Tidy Up Your Head offers the tools to do exactly that – to navigate life’s challenges with self-awareness and strength.
The program combines philosophy, anthropology, theology, and bioethics, thanks to the academic insights of Mag. Sacr. Theol. Brigita Heisinger Muškardin, Bacc. L. A., while I bring in the pedagogical, mentoring, and experiential elements. Together, we offer what I call the most meaningful makeover a person can receive – the one that works from within.
